"What Is An American"

        An American is someone that has been born in the U.S. An American is someone who lives in the U.S., someone that's proud to be a American and hopes to do something in the U.S. For example, someone who has helped in a positive way. An American is someone who would give alot of thought and effort to this paper and change america into a great country. An American can also be a simple person born with no hopes of accomplishing anything in this country, exept being born in the U.S.                                                 Anyways another reason that make; a person a American is that an American has many characteristics that distinguish him from other people around the world. He is a prideful in everything he possesses or accomplishes. He full-heartedly believes in a free-market system. The American is very hardworking and competitive in everything he does, but is also respectful of others and their beliefs. At the same time, he keeps himself informed anout important issues and events. Pride in one's work and possession is a vital part of an American.        No  matter what he does or makes, he strives to be pround of himself an his accomplishments. I also think that with pride comes feelings that are detrimental to many people. In his mind, he/she believes that people are responsible for themselves and their families and the goverment should play a minimal role. An Amerian will pride himself in owning and running a business and will want others to do the same Independence is another important atrribute of the the American.               An american is also someone who loves their country and the people in it, he or she believes in bettering their own lives as well as the lives other needy nations in the world. I think that an American would come with arms and supplies to help the people win back their country if under attack. An American might be a christian or jewish but he will always remain a proud American. To be an American is to be free to workship he/she could also believe in no religion and he will feel the same way as any other American.       Another thing is that the American would love life enough to want the best that it ahs to offer. He/she would understand that to achieve the best in life requires action, exertion, and effort. An American undertands the need to use one's mind and wits to meet life's challenges. Finally the American seeks personal liberty, to live as they see fit, to worship as they please, and seek to freedom from the use of power wielded arbitrarily by whoever holds the political sword.
